“Looks like Pierre was a really serious and wonderful painter! I appreciate the evident freshness, passion, immediacy and emotional directness of his work, and the playfulness that comes through, as well as the brusqueness. I appreciate the impatience! I am curious why he felt he should keep it a secret till after he retired? But I understand, that maybe being a psychoanalyst, it felt a bit wrong to have a second life as an artist, an ego, a presence, when a psychoanalyst might need to be a bit concealed with their patients.
